Almost all women experience weight gain during menopause. The problem isn’t picking up a few kg’s, the problem is the other health issues this can lead to. Often it is seen that the risk for cardiovascular disease and diabetes increases after menopausal weight gain.
The reason that menopausal weight gain is such a health hazard is due to the fact that it is found mostly around the abdomen. This is relevant as abdominal fat cells produce certain chemicals and hormones that fat cells in other areas don’t produce.
Here are a few easy tips to help you shake off some of that midsection mass:
Firstly, cut out some of the carbs in your diet. As you get older, some muscle tissue is replaced with fat. Fat does not use up as much energy as muscle, thus you don’t need so much energy-providing food.
Taking the “less carbs” idea a bit further, limit the amount of sugar you consume. Sugary drinks and alcohol are two of the most common sources of sugar and can cause you to pack on the pounds even if you are eating healthy. Follow the Manna Diet as given in the free e-book.
Along with eating healthy, you need to get your heart rate up. You only have to exercise for 15 – 30 minutes a day, so there are no excuses of being too busy. For the best results in losing weight as well as toning your muscles, your exercise routine should include both cardio exercise and light weight training.
Here are 2 simple exercises you can do at home without any equipment:
Exercise 1 –
Tone your deeper abdominal muscles by drawing in your belly button.
- Get down on your hands and knees, take a deep breath and exhale.
- When you are almost done exhaling, pull your belly button up and in toward your spine.
- Hold this position for 10 seconds, then rest for about 10 seconds and repeat 10 times.
Exercise 2 –
Tighten your lower abdominal muscles by doing pelvic exercises.
- Lie on your back and bend your knees close to your chest.
- Tighten your lower abdominal muscles, lifting your buttocks up and hold for up to 10 seconds, repeat 10 to 20 times.
As estrogen levels decline, fat tends to move from the buttocks to the abdomen. Stop this process by increasing the estrogen levels with a natural supplement like the Manna Menopause Support.
This product is loaded with phyto-estrogens (plant based estrogens) and it is 100% safe to use, even in conjunction with other medication.
