Everybody tells you this is the winning recipe for weight loss, but it is just not working. So what are you doing wrong?
Sometimes the reason may be a bit more complicated like a specific medical condition. But for the most part, the reason you are not losing weight can be narrowed down to one or several of the following reasons…
-
Not Getting Enough Exercising
You may have started exercising more than you used to, but it may not be enough. The key is to burn more calories than you take in.
Under normal circumstances, exercising for 30 minutes on 3 days in the week would be enough. But when you are really trying to lose weight, you may have to ramp it up to an hour per day, 5 times a week.
You should combine cardio exercise as well as resistance exercise (strength/weight training) for the best result. Cardio helps with effective fat burning – but only while you are exercising.
Resistance training, on the other hand, sets the afterburn effect into motion. This means that your body still burns fat for a few hours after you have finished exercising.
-
Not Eating Enough
It is true that you need to reduce your calories in order to lose weight. But eating too little calories can actually have the exact opposite effect.
Skipping meals or cutting your calories too drastically can cause your body to go into “starvation mode”. This is when it feels it is being underfed, and stores all of the nutrients it gets as fat for later use as energy.
If you are a man, you should not eat less than 1,500 calories per day. If you are a woman, you should make sure to eat at least 1,200 calories each day.
Also, swop your 3 big meals a day for 6-8 small meals or snacks throughout the day. This helps prevent getting hungry between meals and thus helps avoid overeating at your next meal. It is also easier to keep track of your calories when you plan your meals in advance.
One of the best ways to cut calories and not feeling deprived of energy or feeling hungry all the time is to replace one to two meals per day with the new Manna Shake.

Emotional Factors and Sleep
Attitude is everything. The way you think and the attitude with which you approach daily tasks can have a massive effect on your weight.
When you are feeling stressed out, bored, or frustrated it can prevent you from losing sleep.
These factors can also cause you to lose sleep, which ironically lets you gain even more weight.
When you are not getting enough hours of proper sleep during the night your hormones are directly affected.
Go out of your way to make sure you get time to calm down and relax, especially before bed time. Also, try and get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep each night.

Other factors to consider
Other factors are usually attributed to medical conditions. It can be due to something like insulin resistance or thyroid gland issues which prevent you from losing weight, and actually, cause you to gain more weight. It can also be the result of having an imbalance in your gut health.
In other cases, you are simply not losing weight because your body is already at a weight which is right for you.
If you are still struggling to lose weight, visit a dietician. They can help to determine what a good body weight is for you, and help see what might be preventing you from reaching this weight.

“My wife and I have been using the Manna now for just over a year. We both lost more that 20 kgs using it as a meal replacement twice a day. The change in formulation last year did not enhance the taste. As a matter of fact, I was looking to go elsewhere. However, this new formulation tastes great and we will continue to use it. Would be nice if your retail outlets got the new formulation as I don’t drink the old one. But I must say, ordering from the factory has been great with speedy delivery.” – Danie de Waal
“I just had the new Chocolate shake with milk instead of yoghurt… absolutely delicious!” – Joan
